Level Descriptions

Tee Wees

Age: 5-6 years old

The Tee Wee’s Class introduces participants to the game of golf and The First Tee Core Values through activity-based lessons with the intention to promote curiosity about the game in a safe and fun environment.


Little Tees

Age: 7-8 years old

The Little Tees level is for all new First Tee participants and will cover the First Tee’s 9 core values, such as honesty, courtesy and responsibility. The goal of this class is to introduce the core value/s through fundamental golf skill activities.


Linksters

Age: 9-10 years old

This level is for Linksters participants will cover the following life skills:

  • Exploring the Game
  • Respecting the Rules
  • 5 Tips for Meeting Someone New
  • 3 Tips for Having Fun
  • The 4R’s
  • Personal Par


Golf Fundamentals

Age: 11- 12 years old and 13+ class

The Golf Fundamental level is open to participants who beginner golfers. The life skills that will be discussed at this level will include:

  • Dreams and Goals
  • Setting goals that are positive and important to you
  • Setting goals that are specific and under your control
  • Setting Different Types of Goals
  • Getting to Your Goal
  • Dealing with Challenges (STAR)


Advanced Techniques

Age: 11-12 years old and 13+ class

Open to participants who are more advanced golfers. Along with their golf skills, Advanced Technique participants will learn life skills that consist of:

  • Why keeping a healthy Body, Mind, and Soul helps you play better and enjoy golf;
  • How to build and get help from a Go-To Team;
  • What diversity means and why it’s important;
  • How to deal with conflicts in a positive way using the C.A.R.E. method;
  • How to benefit from helping others;
  • Planning for the Future; (including education, career, and finances)


Ace

Age minimum: entering 9th grade or 14 years old

Once certified out of Eagle, participants can speak with their coach to find out more information on ACE classes. This level will require a large time commitment but gives the player an opportunity to apply what they have learned from the Life Skills Experience to their high school and collegiate goal planning.
